Gears of War 2 for XBOX 360

On November 7, 2008, Microsoft will release Gears of War 2 for the XBOX 360. It promises to be one of the most popular and most talked about video games of the holiday season. This combat action shooter has been one of the most anticipated games ever since the release of the first Gears of War. The action in the game is frenetic and the controls of the game are some of the best seen in action games such as this.

For those possible new fans of Gears of War, it is a third person shooter created by Epic Games for Microsoft Studios. It is an exclusive Microsoft title and can only be played on XBOX 360. The first Gears of War was also released for the Windows operating system. To power the game's considerable graphics and gameplay, it relies on a modified version of the Unreal 3 engine.

The game play revolves around COG Delta squad lead by Marcus Felix. Their operation is to stop the Locust Horde from continuing to take over the world. Gears of War 2 will continue with that storyline and also keep the wide array of weapons that are used by you and your squad to kill the Locust Horde. One of the most popular weapons in the arsenal of the game has to be the chainsaw mounted on a machine gun for shooting or sawing your opponents. Gears of War 2 has a new feature that allows the player to use a downed opponent as a meat shield while you continue to shoot. Those that have seen previews of the game have enjoyed this new tactic available to the player. Violence has never been so much fun.

Multi-player action will be what keeps players coming back to the game long after the single player campaign has been completed. There have been a reported 15 new maps available for multi-playr action, which should help keep interest in the game until well into 2009. There are numerous games within the multi-player option that will keep players occupied. Reports indicate that at least three new on-line multi-player modes, called "Guardian," "Wingman," and "Submission" will be available. Co-op play is also included.

Gears of War 2 will be a very special game. The level of action and violence has been raised considerably. If you liked the first Gears, then you will like the second, as the gameplay has improved across the board. One of this holiday season's most aniticipated game for XBOX 360 is Gears of War 2.
